Test AI notice reflow and enlarged text

Check whether identity wording remains readable when text is enlarged or the viewport narrows. Includes a free implementation worksheet.

Short answer

Check whether identity wording remains readable when text is enlarged or the viewport narrows. Test the complete interaction surface rather than an isolated component screenshot.

When to use this guide

At high zoom, a chat header truncates its AI identity text while the input remains available below it.

This is a fictional implementation scenario. The procedure below is Article 50 Hub's suggested working method, not a prescribed legal form, a customer result or a claim that every step is an additional statutory requirement.

Review procedure

  1. Use the production-like chat layout with realistic notice text.

  2. Increase text or page zoom and test representative narrow widths.

  3. Inspect clipping, overlap, horizontal scrolling and access to notice controls.

  4. Retest longer translations and the software-keyboard state where relevant.

What the example review finds

  • The identity label is clipped by a fixed-height header.

  • The details control overlaps the input at narrow widths.

Keep these example observations separate from your own results. An unknown or untested state should stay open until the relevant evidence has been inspected.

Fields for your working record

  • Viewport

  • Zoom setting

  • Notice language

  • Layout defect

  • Retest evidence

Use the downloadable blank worksheet linked on this page to connect the observed behavior with the deployed system. Add a reviewer, date, evidence reference, unresolved questions and a next action. The worksheet is editable locally and does not upload your records to Article 50 Hub.

Completion and handoff

Close the task only for the scope actually reviewed. Preserve the result that another authorized reviewer can reproduce, identify the owner of remaining work, and record a retest when the implementation changes. A completed worksheet is not a substitute for the underlying evidence.

Decision boundary

A reflow test covers selected layouts and does not establish every accessibility requirement.
